Deer attack kills man, injures woman in south Australian town

A deer attacked and killed an Australian man and injured a woman on a farm north of Melbourne on Wednesday (April 17), Australian Broadcasting Corp online reported.

The animal was then killed "due to concerns for the paramedic's safety on scene", police said.

His wife, Mandi McDonald, was then attacked when she tried to help her husband.

Both residents suffered critical injuries, but the man died a short time later.

The type of deer involved in the attack is not known.
