PewDiePie took on to Twitter to respond at the whole incident and wrote: "Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch".

In addition to PewDiePie, many other members of the video game and YouTube communities offered their thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the awful tragedy of the Christchurch, New Zealand mosque shooting that occurred on March 15th.

According to the New Zealand Herald, four people are in custody after gunmen opened fire at the mosques in the city of Christchurch. One of the Gunmen live-streamed the tragic shooting on Facebook and reportedly stated the phrase "Remember Lads, subscribe to PewDiePie" during the opening moments of the stream.

A GoFundMe page has already raised more than $8,000 to pay for his legal fees and "more eggs", according to the post. He said Australians were feeling "impotent, outraged, disgusted and ashamed", after the shootings.

"You had nothing to do with this".

It is the worst mass shooting in the country's history.

PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, has in the past been criticised for appearing to make anti-Semitic jokes and promoting neo-Nazi account E.R, which has made Nazi salutes and used several racist and homophobic slurs.

In mid-Michigan, authorities reported two tornadoes and possibly a third, in Shiawassee County and nearby Genesee County. There are no immediate reports of any injuries, but homes and trees were damaged and power was knocked out to thousands.

The gunman, 28-year-old Australian, Brenton Tarrant, livestreamed parts of the brutal shooting on Facebook. At the time of writing, the official death toll stands at 49.

The massacres took place from 1.40pm this afternoon at the Masjid Al Noor and Linwood Masjid mosques.
