The Max mock-up is the newest version of Boeing's workhorse 737 models, the world's most popular commercial aircraft.

The reason for the crash is not yet known.

"At this stage, we can not rule out anything", Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam told reporters, "we can not also attribute the cause to anything because we will have to comply with the global regulation to wait for the investigation".

Investigators will seek to secure the crash site and collect evidence starting with black boxes capturing cockpit conversations and data, while compiling records on recent operations of the plane and the crew.

Ethiopian Airlines tweeted that eight Americans were on the flight.

Facebook, Instagram And WhatsApp Are Down
Due to the outage advertisers are losing money and it seems that the company is planning to issue refunds to the advertisers. Facebook and Instagram are having technical issues as users reported problems with the social media sites Wednesday.

In Washington, Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao said passenger safety was the first priority for the administration. "I just pray that he is safe or he was not on it", he said. "It is all over the news that the plane crashed", said Edwin Ong'undi, who was waiting for his sister.

That model number does not exist however, and multiple aviation websites later identified the plane as a new 737 MAX 8, the same plane that crashed in Indonesia in October, killing 189. Before losing contact, GebreMariam said, the pilot sent a distress call and was given approval to return to the tarmac. And Indonesian officials planned to meet Monday to decide whether to ground the planes there, the Journal reported. There was a huge smoke that we couldn't even see the plane. Several countries lost more than five citizens.

"These kinds of things take time", Kenya's transport minister, James Macharia, told reporters Monday morning.

"Some of them, as you know, they are very distressed", he said.

"Why are they taking us round and round".

It also was a serious blow to state-owned Ethiopian Airlines, which has expanded to become the continent's largest and best-managed carrier and turned Addis Ababa into the gateway to Africa. Framed photos of seven crew members sat in chairs at the front of a crowded room.

The plane lost contact with the control tower six minutes after takeoff.

Shocked leaders of the United Nations, the U.N. refugee agency and the World Food Program announced that colleagues had been on the plane.

The flight ET 302/10 March was on a scheduled service from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to Nairobi, Kenya.

N.Korea raps Japan for raising abductions at UN
If confirmed, it would be the first time a North Korean leader has not run for its rubberstamp parliament. But the Trump administration has said that price was too steep for what North Korea was offering.
