Wizards guard John Wall tears Achilles in fall, out 12 months

Wizards guard John Wall tears Achilles in fall, out 12 months

The procedure, which has yet to be scheduled, will be performed by Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay, Wisc.

The 28-year-old elected to have a season-ending surgery in December with hopes of avoiding any additional damage.

Wizards team doctor Wiemi Douoguih said Tuesday in a conference call with reporters that he discovered the partial rupture of the tendon during a procedure done Monday to address an infection from the operation on Wall's left heel on January 8. They say the tendon ruptured after slipping and falling in his home. The initial surgery, a debridement and fix of a Haglund's deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel, was supposed to keep him out six to eight months. He then slipped and fell in his home, which resulted in him suffering the injury.

Airline sues passenger who missed his flight
The airline saw the flyer's tactic as a violation of its terms and conditions and is asking for more than $2,000 in compensation. The hack is named after the website Skiplagged , an airfare search engine that claims to "expose loopholes to save your money".

He was expected to miss six to eight months of action while recovering from that injury.

The initial left heel injury was the 10th major injury to force missed time for the five-time All-Star, according to NBC Sports Washington.

Wall was limited to 41 games last season, mostly because of surgery on his left knee.

May to MPs: We need to hold our nerve on Brexit talks
House of Commons leader Andrea Leadsom, who is in charge of the parliamentary timetable, denied the government was wasting time. Business leaders have argued that a no-deal Brexit would spell disaster for the UK's economy.

The Wizards have tried to build a roster around him, and Wall's $170-million, four-year contract extension kicks in next season.

Wall will undergo surgery on the latest injury, and per the team, will be out for about 12 months. Washington now sits at a record of 22-31 and are two games out of a playoff spot.

Wall played in 32 games during the 2018-19 campaign, averaging 20.7 points, 8.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 34.5 minutes per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the floor, 30.2 percent from 3-point range and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.
