Israel warns Iran that its missiles can travel 'very far'

Netanyahu has said in recent weeks that Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks in Syria over the past several years and would ramp up its fight following the planned withdrawal of USA troops from the country.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent out a rallying cry to Arab nations at a US -sponsored Middle East conference in Poland on Wednesday, saying he planned to focus on the "common interest of combating Iran".

Israel has carried out hundreds of air strikes in Syria in the past few years against Iranian and Hezbollah targets.

The comments were made to reporters on the sidelines of the Warsaw Middle East ministerial following Netanyahu's meeting with the Sultanate of Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Yusuf bin Alawi. Nor do Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, which also sent envoys to Warsaw and which share Israel's concerns about Iran's nuclear program and involvement in several regional flashpoints.

She said such developments were "more likely to turn into reality the risks of weaponizing outer space and making it a battlefield".


Netanyahu's surprising October 26, 2018, visit to Oman marked the first time an Israeli leader publicly visited the Gulf state since 1996. "Now we say, this is a new era, for the future".

Participants, including U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Polish President Andrzej Duda and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pose for a group photo ahead of the two-day conference's opening.

Iran was not invited, nor will the Palestinians have any representation at the summit.

In a re-issued statement to the media, Netanyahu's office said the goal of the meetings in Poland was "to advance the common interest of combatting Iran".

House of Commons leader Andrea Leadsom, who is in charge of the parliamentary timetable, denied the government was wasting time. Business leaders have argued that a no-deal Brexit would spell disaster for the UK's economy.

Hosting the meeting is a chance for Poland's conservative government to bolster ties with Washington at a time when it is increasingly isolated within the European Union amid a dispute over its adherence to rule-of-law standards.

Wednesday's conference is co-hosted by the US and Poland and its official focus is Mideast peace and security.

Transatlantic cooperation was necessary to resolve problems in the Middle East, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said.
