HSE warns of measles outbreak in Donegal

The measles outbreak reported in the northwest has made its way to Texas.

The Oregon Health Authority said Wednesday that measles was confirmed in the three people Wednesday but that they pose no risk to the public. All individuals are children that were either unvaccinated or had not completed the vaccine series.

Five of these measles cases are in the greater Houston area and 1 case was reported in Bell County, which is located near Temple, TX.

Denton County Public Health confirmed there is at least one measles case in the county on Wednesday.

"Measles is so contagious that if one person has it, 90 [percent] of the people close to that person who are not yet immune could become infected", the release read. "While death rates have been falling worldwide as more children receive the measles vaccine, the disease still kills more than 100,000 people a year, most under the age of 5".

Unai Emery urges Arsenal to improve away form amid criticism
Arsenal need to improve their defence given their performance so far this season, conceding 36 goals in 25 games in the Premier League so far.

Part of what drives these outbreaks is the ease of the spread of measles.

Measles is transmitted through direct contact with an infected person or through the air when the infected person coughs or sneezes.

Measles vaccines are reported to be very effective, protecting people 97 percent of the time after 2 doses.

Anyone who believes they have measles should contact their health care provider as soon as possible.

The comments were made two months ago, but will be aired in a documentary on Wednesday. "If he wants to go, he has to go", Sarri said last week.

"Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent measles", stated Dr. Matt Richardson, Director of Public Health. "In a sense, we already saw that in 2018, but it looks like cases may pick up more in 2019".

Symptoms include a high fever, coughing, runny nose and watery, red eyes between seven and 14 days after infection, the U.S. National Library of Medicine says.

"Our vaccination rates are not so low that I think we are going to be like Italy or Romania that had thousands of cases previous year but we could have a few hundred cases", Ludke said. In 2013, 27 cases of measles were reported in Texas; 16 of the 27 confirmed cases were in Tarrant County, according to the DSHS.
