Trump under fresh scrutiny over relationship with Putin

"I had a conversation like every president does".

Trump has gone to what the Post described as "extraordinary lengths" to keep the specifics of his conversations with his Russian counterpart under wraps.

Trump went so far as to take the notes from the interpreter who worked with him during a private meeting with Putin at the 2017 Group of 20 meeting in Hamburg, Germany. "It was a great conversation".

"I would. I don't care", said Trump about revealing details of the discussion. "We need to investigate, because we don't know whether, you know, the worst-case scenario is possibly true or the President is totally innocent and we need to get this thing over with - and so he can move forward with his agenda".

The constraints that Trump imposed are part of a broader pattern by the president of shielding his communications with Putin from public scrutiny and preventing even high-ranking officials in his own administration from fully knowing what he has told one of the United States' main adversaries.

Winter Storm Gia Causing Snow Emergency Across The Country
Gia has most of the midwest in a winter storm warning, with anticipated snowfall ranging from 3 inches to more than a foot. The Weather Channel reported that almost 500 weather-related motor vehicle accidents had been reported in Missouri.

The Post reported that the US interpreter present at the official Hamburg meeting was approached by other administration officials seeking more information about what the two leaders discussed.

As a result, USA officials told the Post, there exists "no detailed record, even in classified files", of Trump's meetings with the Russian leader at five locations over the past two years.

"If you compare objectively President Trump's policies to Russia compared to President Obama's policies to Russia, by any measure, President Obama was much easier, much more gentle on Russia", Cruz said.

"If you compare objectively President Trump's policies in Russian Federation... to President Obama's policies in Russian Federation".

Schumer announced the decision early Sunday, saying there are too many questions about why the Treasury Department is cutting a break to three companies associated with Oleg Deripaska.

All their numbers across the board are worse away from home, and that's particularly true of Dak Prescott's play. The Cowboys, the No. 4 seed in the NFC, are set to take on the No. 2-seeded Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night.

And Trump's former presidential campaign chair, Paul Manafort, has been convicted in one case brought by Mueller and pleaded guilty in another, over financial crimes related to his work in Ukraine before the 2016 campaign, and for witness tampering.

Trump has been trying to play up his presence at the White House during the standoff as a sign that it's Democrats who won't negotiate a deal.

When asked whether the Senate should subpoena a translator so they can see what Trump and Putin have discussed behind closed doors, Cruz said he would like to learn "a little more" but that it would be premature to take that action.

However, he reiterated his claims that there was no foul play with Russian Federation.

President Donald Trump avoided giving a direct answer when asked if he now is or has ever worked for Russian Federation after a published report said federal law enforcement officials were so concerned about his behavior after he fired James Comey from the FBI that they began investigating whether Trump had been working for the US adversary against American interests. The interpreter revealed only that Mr. Trump replied "I believe you" when Putin denied meddling in the USA elections, according to the Post. "This is absurd", she said.
