Packers confirm hiring of Matt LaFleur as coach

The Green Bay Packers have named Matt LeFleur the team's 15th head coach.

"I think they wanted somebody that would hold players accountable", Murphy said. Before that, they had met with Chuck Pagano, Jim Caldwell and Packers interim coach Joe Philbin.

LaFleur had been the most prepared candidate and impressed the Packers brass with his vision and quiet confidence. "Can LaFleur come in and correct Aaron Rodgers, work with Aaron Rodgers and lift the team back to the playoffs where they've been absent the last couple of years?"

It's also an offense Rodgers spoke admiringly of during the season. That Eagles team finished 8-2 and returned to the NCAA postseason for the first time in a decade. His two sons sat quietly next to his wife.

"The process is to improve on a daily basis", LaFleur said. Rodgers, receiver Davante Adams, and defensive end Mike Daniels are among the players on the council.

Cesc Fabregas delighted to join Monaco's 'new project'
The Zenit St-Petersburg midfielder has scored 10 goals and grabbed 15 assists during his time in Russian Federation . Fabregas won two league titles with Chelsea and one Spanish La Liga crown during his 2011-14 stint at Barcelona .

The latter will be important in Green Bay, because there will be a dedication to the running game to give the offense balance.

"I thought we were going to get in a vehicle accident", LaFleur said. He transferred to Saginaw Valley State where he stepped under center for the Cardinals.

Before coaching in the National Football League, the Mount Pleasant, Mich., native coached in the college ranks for six seasons.

LaFleur said his goodbyes at Saint Thomas Sports Park earlier in the day. It is a challenge. "I can tell he's a passionate guy, and he wants to win". Rodgers is a hard player to coach because he is extremely smart and independent. Although he has the intellect to match his ability, he will have to learn a new offensive system after playing in Mike McCarthy's offense for 13 years. "We're also excited about the person-he is bright with a great work ethic and a flawless fit for Green Bay and the organization". He thinks they are both already on the same page.

Matt LaFleur has never been in charge of an National Football League team before, and until previous year had never called plays for one either. While with the Falcons, quarterback Matt Ryan earned NFL MVP honors.

Healthcare guaranteed for all New Yorkers, says Bill de Blasio
The legislation would require employers with five or more employees to offer 10 paid days off that could be used for any goal . If implemented, New York City would be the first jurisdiction in the country to mandate paid personal time for employees.

The 32-year old coach could be getting a promotion if he heads to Green Bay as the team's special teams coordinator. When Nagy was hired last January, he was the same age as LeFleur and had only a few games of play-calling experience.

That's why he pursued another offensive coordinator job - this one in Tennesee that would offer him full play-calling duties. In 2007, Ashland got that ball rolling, giving LaFleur the first offensive coordinator position of his career. The well-traveled offensive-minded coach will have some high-expectations immediately placed upon him with his name amongst the ranks of Super Bowl-winning head coaches Vince Lombardi, Mike Holmgren, and Mike McCarthy before him. Quite honestly, if he had stayed in L.A. with the kind of year they had this year, he'd be the hot candidate.

"I took the risk because I knew that I needed to get out of my comfort zone and grow as a coach". "I think I probably learned as much from him as he learned from me".

Introductory press conferences are always a celebration and this one signaled a stark contrast in the mood around Green Bay in recent months.

LaFleur was in the vehicle at the time.
