Apple is Not Learning From its Mistake: 3 iPhone Models in 2019

Forget about the 2018 iPhones.

What are the major innovations that would cause you to shell out your hard-earned cash for an iPhone in 2019?

At this point it's not known if retailers are taking a hit to their own profit margins by reducing prices across the board, or if Apple is instead footing the bill by providing incentives directly to the retailers (which are then passed on to the customer).

Milwaukee bus driver rescues toddler wandering in the cold
The child, who appeared to be less than one-year-old, was barefoot and wearing just a onesie and diaper. She then rushes back to the vehicle, where some passengers look on.

The iPhone XS and XS Max have two rear cameras, while the less expensive XR has a single camera, but the latter has numerous same features as its higher-end counterparts. iPhones already take great photos, but Apple appears to be looking for an edge that can help it better compete in key markets like China, where competitors often offer handsets with similar features at lower prices.

Apple will include a high-end model in its line-up that features three cameras on its back, up from the current two, in addition to a pair of less expensive alternatives, the newspaper said. One seller had a 256GB version of the iPhone XS Max, Apple's most premium device, for 9,699 yuan ($1,436), much lower than the USA firm's official selling price of 10,999 yuan ($1,628).

The report is light on other features of the 2019 iPhones.

Reports emerged earlier this week that Apple will cut production of its latest phone models by 10 per cent over the next three months. China's Huawei has been growing rapidly, replacing Apple as the second-largest smartphone player by global market share a year ago.

Blevins said that talking with Samsung, whose Galaxy and Note devices compete against the iPhone, is "not an ideal environment" for Apple, but that Samsung is now the largest component supplier to Apple. It is, however, planning to put OLED panels for the cheaper iPhone models next year, which will unify the displays across all its iPhones for 2020.

Apple's purported focus on cameras shows that it wants to keep the iPhone competitive with rival smartphones that heavily emphasize the importance of photography chops. Alibaba-backed Suning and JD.com have both cut its iPhone prices this week, according to Reuters.

However, the more than 339,000 contributors now have the option to either receive a refund or to forward their donation. Kolfage has set up a fundraising goal of $1 billion to help pay for a physical barrier along the southern border.
