3 dead, multiple injuries following bus crash in Ottawa

Three people were killed and almost two dozen were injured on Friday (Jan 11) when a double-decker bus struck a bus shelter in the Canadian capital of Ottawa during rush hour, city officials said.

Nepean's MP said the crash reminded her of another devastating incident involving an OC Transpo bus in Barrhaven back in 2013.

The bus collided with the platform at the Westboro bus station at about 3:50 p.m. ET, he said.

Two of the dead were riding the bus; one was on the platform at Westboro station, a major stop on the city's busway, he said.
