Abrams preparing new challenge in Georgia race — APNewsBreak

Ms Abrams, the Democratic challenger to Republican Brian Kemp, said this was not a "concession" but an acknowledgement she could not win.

Abrams, however, stressed she's not conceding.

"So let's be clear: This is not a speech of concession, because concession means to acknowledge an action as right, true or proper", she said.

However, NPR reports she will be filing some sort of federal lawsuit against the state of Georgia, albeit one which won't challenge the outcome of this election. Trump called Abrams "one of the most extreme far-left politicians in the entire country" and said she would "have Georgia turn into Venezuela". "As a woman of conscience and faith, I can not concede that", she added.

New GOP Leaders Stick With Trump Despite Midterm Losses
Minnesota Governor-elect Tim Walz celebrates during the election night event by the Democratic Party, Nov. 6, 2018, in St. Senate, where I've worked for the people of Iowa and our nation for 38 years", Grassley said in a statement Wednesday.

Today's speech came after a ten-day legal battle in the tight race and the results were certified by the state's chief elections official, with Kemp leading Abrams 50.2 percent to 48.8 percent - or by about 55,000 votes - with 99 percent of the vote counted.

Unofficial results in the contest give Republican Brian Kemp a slim majority over Abrams.

Operating "as though the secretary of state's taxpayer-funded office [was] an arm of the campaign", as Abrams' campaign manager, Lauren Groh-Wargo, told NPR last week, Kemp kicked more than 100,000 Georgians off the voter rolls and changed 53,000 people's voter status to "pending" due to clerical errors on their registration forms.

The office said in a news release that 27 counties had to conduct a second review of provisional ballots cast because would-be voters didn't appear on the voter rolls.

Rockets confirm Anthony no longer in their plans
His contract was bought out by the Hawks in July, opening the door for him to sign with the Rockets for the veteran's minimum. It's unclear what's next for Anthony, but Chris Paul , who has always been friends with him, knows he'll be OK.

In a fiery speech, Abrams insisted this was no normal concession, decrying the voter "deliberate and intentional" voter suppression by Kemp that she believed had led to this conclusion.

Kemp issued a statement: "The election is over and hardworking Georgians are ready to move forward". A judge could declare a victor, order a later runoff, or, in the most extreme situation, declare the entire election invalid and instruct the state to hold another. Kemp has cut a very different figure than Deal, a soft-spoken former Democrat. "The campaign is over, and Kemp's focus is on building a safer, stronger future for Georgia families", Kemp campaign spokesman Ryan Mahoney said. His campaign aides spent much of this week attacking Democratic efforts in court, while Abrams picked up a series of important, if not ultimately pivotal, legal victories.

Kemp stormed to the Republican nomination behind an unabashedly conservative platform and an endorsement from President Donald Trump. He also resigned as secretary of state, ending his oversight of the elections. She also ordered the county to delay certification of its election results until those ballots have been counted. Kemp's narrow margin already suggests that Georgia, a state Trump won by five percentage points in 2016, could be a genuine battleground in two years.
