Tuesday’s First Warning Forecast: Rain today then a big cool down

After a sunny Monday with a high near 49 degrees in Providence, a storm is expected to move into the region late tonight into Tuesday, bringing moderate to heavy rain and potentially damaging winds, the weather service says.

Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before midnight.

A slight chance of rain after noon, mixing with snow after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Highs will warm into the 50s on Thursday. The clouds and rain will keep us a little more mild overnight, with lows only dropping down into the lower 40's. North wind 10 to 15 miles per hour.

While no major accumulations of snow are expected in the area, the cold wet conditions in the upcoming forecast can make for some less than ideal driving conditions. Expect clouds skies tonight with scattered showers and lows falling into the low 40s.
