76ers acquire Jimmy Butler in trade with Timberwolves

After two months of Jimmy Butler wanting out of Minnesota, it appears he's finally getting his wish.

It's being reported that Minnesota will likely waive Jerryd Bayless' contract in order to create roster flexibility. The Sixers will weigh Butler's physical condition and how he fits with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, but they didn't give up such significant assets believing that this would be a rental situation.

Aubameyang, who replaced the injured Welbeck in the 30th minute, missed a string of scoring chances. Group rivals Vidi kept their qualification hopes alive with a 1-0 home victory over PAOK Salonika.

As for the present, with by far the best Big 3 in the East, the 76ers are now legitimate threats to make it to the Finals. Wojnarowski also added that the Sixers are confident they will get a deal done as long as it's a smooth transition for Butler this season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the trade. The cost for Jimmy Butler would have been even higher, had the Sixers been given the assurance Jimmy Butler would sign on longterm.

It's been quite a year, and I wanted to send the biggest thank you to all the people who love me, and have shown me love. And just like that, another VS Angel calls it quits! I'm going to get a burger now.

The package is pretty surprising considering the reported deal that almost brought Butler to Miami.

Butler has one year left on his contract before he can decline his player option and become a free agent in 2019. But a Friday loss in Sacramento, ending an 0-5 road trip for a team now 4-9 on the season, was apparently the last straw.

The Trident Juncture 18 event are the biggest North Atlantic Treaty Organisation exercises since the Cold War in the 1980s. The warship is now in danger of sinking, while the tanker, named the Sola TS , is slightly damaged and did not spill oil.

The deal comes after Butler turned down a four-year, $110 million extension from the Timberwolves during the offseason and was not moved after the Rockets reportedly offered four first-round picks to acquire him. He's on pace this season to average at least 20 points for the fifth consecutive year.
