Rizzo: Nats made offer to Bryce Harper late in season

Two of the offseason's biggest targets are Manny Machado and Bryce Harper.

For years now, Boras has been selling Harper - who at the age of 26 is already a six-time All Star, a former National League MVP and was the 2012 rookie of the year - as a talent so rare he could command more than $US400 million.

Speaking shortly after he conceded, Mr Gillum said: "We recognise that we didn't win it tonight, we didn't win this transaction. DeSantis walked into his polling place Ponte Vedra with his family by his side.

But people familiar with the offer also indicate that it is now off the table, an offer meant to capitalise on the Nationals' exclusive negotiating rights with Harper that stood for five weeks until he officially became a free agent. Those conversations led to what one person called "an aggressive offer".

USA Today reported that Harper rejected a 10-year, $300 million deal from Washington. The offer was worth roughly $300 million for 10 years with no opt-outs, per the Washington Post's Chelsea Janes. The deal would have been the second-richest in Major League Baseball history, trailing only Giancarlo Stanton's $325 million contract with the Miami Marlins signed in 2014, and the third-richest in sports history.

Nicki also went home with two awards for Best Look and Best Hip-Hop, during which she thanked her fans and mother. Hauwa Ojeifo, a Nigerian mental health activist, has won the first-ever MTV EMA Generation Change Award.

Given Harper's history with the Nationals, he seems unlikely to make a deal elsewhere without first circling back.

An incredible amount to turn down - as it would be the biggest free-agent deal in terms of total money in the history of the four major sport - but also almost $100 million short of what Harper and agent Scott Boras are seeking.

Doctors can prescribe cannabis products for various symptoms, and patients can either buy it or grow it at home. In Florida, 63 percent voted to pass a measure that restores voting rights to 1.5 million former convicts .

"We took advantage of our exclusivity late in the season". "We didn't get anything done, but he's a guy that is near and dear to us and we are not closing any doors". Even in his decline, he's likely to be a very productive player. He has a life in Washington D.C. Maybe he's ready to move on, but it's possible he likes said life there and that could matter. Once he rejects the qualifying offer - the deadline is this coming Friday - things really kick into gear regarding rumors.
