Water levels plummet on Texas river that washed out bridge

The body was found at Flag Street and Sandstone Street, according to KVUE.

The woman's body was found in Llano County, one of the areas inundated by the swollen Llano River, county officials said Wednesday. That body has not been identified. The Llano River is still roaring and still causing havoc to communities.

Water levels along the Llano River at Llano have subsided but are still well above major flood stage. "There is debris. Homes that have been evacuated are going to have to be evaluated before we can say that they're safe to re-enter".

The ban includes Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake, a portion of the Colorado River and all creeks.

Forecasters tweeted warnings Tuesday (Oct. 16) about major flooding along the Llano River in Texas. The National Weather Service warns that, while the river is believed to have peaked as of early Tuesday afternoon, a second crest is expected Wednesday morning.

A flash flood warning was put into effect, and forecasters described it as a "very unsafe situation".

Authorities report the Llano River in Central Texas is expected to rise to over 40 feet. Three bodies have been recovered.

Residents were evacuated from homes Tuesday in Kingsland and in nearby Marble Falls, which was being overwhelmed by the Colorado River. Four floodgates are open on Mansfield Dam at Lake Travis, located northwest of Austin.

At least one person has died from the flooding.

Heavy rains were also impacting other parts of the state. The Fort Worth Fire Department, for instance, said it had responded Tuesday morning to some 80 traffic accidents relating to slick roads and poor visibility.

Torrential rain has fallen across central Texas for two days with Llano County being deluged by 30.5cm (12 inches) of water. In Kingsland, floodwaters swept away a bridge across the Llano River on FM 2900.
