Liam Fox and the U.S. treasury secretary bowed to pressure and pulled out of a global investment conference in Saudi Arabia after the alleged murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

Karen Attiah, The Washington Post's Global Opinions editor, wrote an introductory note to Khashoggi's piece saying his assistant had submitted the article a day after the 60-year-old was reported missing.

"I will be forever grateful he chose The Post as his final journalistic home one year ago and gave us the chance to work together", she wrote.
"We're just going to allow the process to move forward, the facts to unfold and, as we make determination for ourselves, the United States will decide what the appropriate response will be".

Last night, Turkish authorities spent nine hours searching the Saudi consul's residence while other crime scene teams searched the Saudi consulate.

The letter cited decades of business deals and asked Trump to provide information regarding recent and future financial ties to Saudi Arabia.
