Shettima condoles family of aid worker, Hauwa Liman, killed by Boko Haram

The statement by Nigeria's information minister said "the federal government did all within its powers to save her life" and had kept the "line of negotiations" open since the abductions.

Boko Haram uses kidnapping as a weapon of war, abducting thousands of women and girls and forcing young men and boys to fight in their ranks.

Barely 24 hours after Boko Haram announced its murder of another female Red Cross aid worker, tears flowed freely as members of the Bring Back Our Girls group protested in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Tuesday, spoke with Mohammed Liman, father of Hauwa Liman, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) midwife who was slain by Boko Haram terrorists.

Liman is the second aid worker to have been killed by Boko Haram recently.

But Reverend Lee's message is a powerful admonishment, coming from a southerner and a descendent of the general himself. But he made the statement in the context of talking about how hard it was for President Abraham Lincoln to defeat him.

The Nigerian terror group says Hauwa Mohammed Liman, who was killed on Monday, deserved to die because she had abandoned Islam by working for the Red Cross.

The militants said in a video posted online last month that they would kill at least one hostage once a deadline due to elapse on Monday had passed.

More than 27,000 people have been killed in northeast Nigeria since the Boko Haram insurgency began in 2009, while almost two million others remain homeless due to the conflict.

Liman and Saifura Khorsa, who also worked for the ICRC, were abducted in March during a raid on the remote town of Rann in Borno state, along with Alice Loksha, a nurse who worked at a health center supported by the U.N.'s children agency UNICEF.

Buhari on Tuesday spoke with Liman's father and with ICRC president Peter Maurer, appealing to the aid group to "continue their services in Nigeria and not give up", a government statement said.

The heart-breaking news of the death of Hauwa Leman comes as an extreme shock, which leaves us devastated by the deeply regrettable consequences of the Government's failure.

According to The Cable, the terrorists said that they will keep Leah Sharibu, the Dapchi schoolgirl who refused to denounce Christianity, as a slave for life.

ISWA split from Boko Haram in 2016 and has killed hundreds of soldiers in attacks in northeastern Nigeria in the past few months, security and military sources have told Reuters.

"We urge the group holding Alice and Leah to release them safely", the ICRC's Danzi said.

Even Messi would struggle at Man United this season - Scholes
I'm not saying that any Man United player has ever done that, but you hear so much stuff now that you think it could be possible. Carrick was a key player for Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Mourinho.
