Russian Federation may resume manned space flights on November 28

It's now been almost a week since the Soyuz rocket ferrying a NASA astronaut and Russian cosmonaut failed during launch, leading to a mission abort and sending the passengers on a course right back down to Earth. Anyway, Hague goes on to explain how the rocket's automated abort mechanism yanked the crew capsule away from the rocket once the failure was detected.

In the wake of a booster failure that forced a Russian Soyuz spacecraft to make an emergency landing last week, astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) were anxious whether their space launch would be cancelled.

The Ovchinin-Hague crew has undergone good training and thanks to the Soyuz spacecraft's reliable safety system, there are no medical pre-requisites for delaying the flight or re-staffing the crew, the Roscosmos official said.

Following a smooth liftoff, the Soyuz's booster malfunctioned between the first and second stages of separating, whereupon the crew was forced to abort the flight and switch to ballistic descent. "I got to experience a few seconds of weightlessness and I was able to watch a few things float around in the capsule" at the peak, he said.

That's what you do for your kids. "I don't really have you down as a papoose kinda guy, but then you're full of surprises". "Oh 007. not you as well?!" he wrote of Craig's baby-toting technique, adding, " #emasculatedBond ".

Ovchinin recalled being violently shaken from side by side as the crew cabin separated from the rocket, followed by a force seven times stronger then gravity as the cabin plunged through the atmosphere, followed by the shock of the parachutes yanking open.

"You can imagine the scene", Hague said.

"We looked at each other, we had grins from ears to ears". They shook hands and cracked jokes.

Nick Hague on Tuesday publicly described his close call during a Facebook conversation.

Russia is planning its next manned mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in early December after a launch failure earlier this month, according to Sergei Krikalyov, executive director of the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos. The space station, meanwhile, is managing for now with a crew of three. "Sometimes you don't get a vote", Hague said.

Currently, Russia's Soyuz rocket is the only vehicle capable of carrying people to the International Space Station.
