Man United not for sale despite link to Saudi Arabia royal family

On Monday, Saudi officials were considering whether to say rogue operatives killed Jamal Khashoggi during an interrogation gone wrong, people familiar with the matter said, a move that could help the royal family distance itself from responsibility.

Erdogan said investigators found surfaces newly painted over, which could indicate an attempt to hide evidence. Pompeo was on a brief visit to Turkey after having met with the Saudi king, crown prince and foreign minister in Riyadh on Tuesday.

While the two countries have announced a joint investigative committee, the Saudi request for it is largely an attempt by Riyadh to convey the appearance of cooperation, said one Turkish official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the frustrations.

Khashoggi, a Saudi national and USA resident who became increasingly critical of powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has not been seen since he walked into the Istanbul consulate to sort out marriage paperwork on October 2.

He was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul where he went to receive papers he needed to remarry.

It has been two weeks now since the disappearance of the Washington Post journalist, who is believed to have been killed at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul last week where he went to get documents for his marriage with his Turkish fiancee Hatice Cengiz, and Riyadh still is not showing sufficient care regarding the case.

Russian Orthodox Church 'rupturing' ties with the Constantinople over Ukraine split
A talk show on the Rossiya1 warned that "radicals" may start seizing churches as soon as Moscow's control weakened. Another pro-government paper, Izvestiya, spoke of "one of the darkest days in the history of Orthodoxy".

"Here we go again with you're guilty until proven innocent", Trump told the AP in an interview.

Initially, the Saudis maintained that Khashoggi left the Turkish consulate alive.

The investigators, who eventually searched the premises for eight hours, took samples with them, including soil from the consulate garden, according to an official at the scene. #JamalKjashoggi was beaten as soon as he entered the consulate.

The scans, obtained by NBC News from Turkish officials, show the photo-and-bio pages of seven Saudi passports that Turkish officials say belonged to seven of the 15 Saudis who arrived in Istanbul ahead of Khashoggi's disappearance.

Khashoggi's alleged killers tortured the journalist during interrogation by cutting his fingers off, Yeni Safak said, claiming it had heard multiple recordings.

Sanders said the resolution, when Congress returns from recess next month, would "give the Senate another opportunity to end US support for this catastrophe, to reassert congressional authority over matters of war, and to show the Saudi government that they do not have a blank check from the United States to continue human rights violations".

Mara also said he had confidence in head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager David Gettelman. The Giants are 1-5 and will play the Falcons on Monday at 8:15 p.m.

Trump's comments came after a telephone conversation with King Salman, father of the crown prince, the first such talks since the crisis erupted.

Appearing to find the explanation a little too convenient, Democratic Sen. Trump has speculated that "rogue killers" could be responsible, but gave no evidence to back up that theory.

The case has put Saudi Arabia under pressure from close allies. Saudi Arabia did not immediately acknowledge he had left or offer a reason for his departure.

But he has also repeatedly backed off the idea of halting arms sales to Saudi Arabia and emphasised that Khashoggi is not a U.S. citizen.

Pompeo told journalists before leaving Riyadh on Wednesday that Saudi leaders, including King Salman and his son, the 33-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, "made no exceptions on who they would hold accountable".

Saudi Arabia said the men were tourists.
