Artist 'astounded' to see his Trump painting hung in the White House

A hokey, dream-like painting of President Donald Trump chumming it up with Republican presidents of decades past - which was gifted to Trump by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) - is hanging up in the White House.

Thomas also said Trump was "a challenge" to paint due to the complexion of his skin and lack of shadows on his face.

The fact that Trump would then hang that in the White House was entirely in character, Thomas said, both from the point of view of the president's ego and his willingness to honor a piece of kitsch created by an ordinary voter.

President Donald Trump spoke with 60 Minutes in an interview that aired on Sunday night, where he discussed a number of topics, including Russia, Defense Secretary James Mattis, North Korea, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, among other topics.

UK Brexit agreement deal set to be announced
Theresa May's leadership and her plans for Brexit are under pressure after a setback in talks with Brussels. But after talks which lasted a little over an hour, it was clear that obstacles remained.

Standing behind them are George HW Bush, Gerald Ford and Teddy Roosevelt.

"Wow, during the 60 Minutes interview this evening look what is on the wall!" he said.

Previously talking to Time magazine, Thomas pointed out that he had also added a nod to feminism, as he put it, in his painting - the blurred image of a woman approaching the table out of the crowd.

"He had actually given me real gracious call to tell me how much he liked it", Thomas said of Trump.

Astros Vs. Red Sox
The Red Sox are carrying just 11 pitchers for the ALCS , but Eduardo Rodriguez could provide multiple innings in relief. He left Game 2 having limited enough damage for the Red Sox to win 7-5 and salvage a split of the first two games.

"As I was doing the painting, I was thinking that these guys are kind of intimidating in a way", he was quoted as saying in the post.

Trump, wearing his ubiquitous red tie and white shirt, seems to be sharing a joke with the group while a glass of what appears to be his beverage of choice - Diet Coke - sits next to his arm. [Trump was] very kind, very complimentary. "I remember he said he's seen a lot of paintings of himself and he doesn't usually like them", says Thomas.

Thomas said on Tuesday that the portrait was the newest iteration in his series of presidential pictures. A president can get access to works from the Smithsonian and other museums around the country for his or her private residence if they wish.
