He's An Arsenal Legend - Monaco Star Intrigued By Thierry Henry Possibility

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is set to be named Monaco's new manager after the French Ligue 1 outfit officially announced the sacking of Leonardo Jardim after four years with the club.

He left his lucrative job as a pundit on Sky Sports at the end of last season amid plans to become a manager after earning his stripes at former club Arsenal and, more recently, with Belgium as assistant to Martinez.

The 44-year-old also guided Monaco to the Champions League semi-finals in 2016-17 and helped develop players such as forward Kylian Mbappe, now at Paris St-Germain.

Henry was subject of constant rumors and reports that he may take over at Aston Villa following Steve Bruce's dismissal, but the job eventually went to Dean Smith (no relation to the North Carolina basketball coach, as far as we know).

It was easy to believe from the video, judging by his animated motions while sitting across from President Trump . His statement lasted almost 10 minutes before the president chimed in to compliment West on his honesty.

Now two years off winning the Ligue 1 title under Jardim and with a squad that's been decimated by sales across Europe, Monaco has struggled immensly this season.

The 44-year-old Portuguese coach had to cope with the sale of numerous stars of his title-winning squad over the last two seasons.

However, the club have made a poor start to the new season, failing to win any of their last 10 games since the opening day of the league campaign including losing each of their last four outings.

Against Angers, the only key members of the title-winning team to feature were skipper Radamel Falcao and the defensive trio of Jemerson, Kamil Glik and Djibril Sidibe.

"I would like to salute Leonardo with the utmost respect for all the work done", AS Monaco Vice-President Vadim Vasilyev said in a statement.

"His passage will remain as one of the most attractive pages in the history of the club".

Monaco's next match, after the worldwide break, is on October 20 away to Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
