China, US Exchange Sharp Words During Pompeo Visit

The message will be formally delivered to the Pope by President Moon of South Korea when he visits the Vatican this month. "We also need to clarify facts about the history of China-U.S. relations".

The top U.S. diplomat met with the North Korean leader in Pyongyang for two hours before Pompeo flew to South Korea on Sunday afternoon for a two-day visit.

KCNA said: "Together with Mike Pompeo, Kim Jong-un appreciated the positively developing situation on the Korean peninsula, explained in detail the proposals for solving the denuclearisation issue and matter of concern of both sides and exchanged constructive opinions".

"We demand that the USA side stop this kind of mistaken action", he said. Chairman Kim said he's ready to allow them to come in.

Kim also brought up the interactions between the North Korean leader and Roman Catholic Archbishop Hyginus Kim Hee-joong at Mt. Paektu last month, who was invited to join the South Korean delegation alongside President Moon.

Pompeo also told reporters that a second summit between Trump and Kim was "pretty close".

Kim expressed enthusiasm for the future of talks between the two nations.

Pope Francis has made repeated public appeals for peace on the Korean peninsula, and led the faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square in prayers for the U.S. "But if you look at the approach, we are in lockstep with each of those two countries in terms of how we approach achieving the results that everyone is aimed at". According to the former official, the North Korean diplomats told him that denuclearization for them refers to a process by which the USA also reduces its nuclear weapons, possibly worldwide.
