Beef recall due to salmonella outbreak

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), over 6.5 million pounds of ground beef have been recalled by Arizona meat producer JBS Tolleson due to possible salmonella contamination.

Millions of pounds of ground beef are being recalled after being sold at stores including Walmart. "267" found inside the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging label.

The main concern of the FSIS is that some of the products out of these contaminated products might now be frozen in the consumer's freezers. Some of the products have a sell or use by date in late September.

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but discard them or return them to the place of purchase.

"We are working in close partnership with USDA to make sure all potentially impacted product is removed from stores and homes", JBS said in a statement.
