Everson Griffen's Wife Called the Cops on Him Due to Erratic Behavior

Everson Griffen's Wife Called the Cops on Him Due to Erratic Behavior

Mike Zimmer was predictably tight-lipped about the situation, but some concerning details surrounding Griffen's absence have begun to emerge, involving a freakish incident with a gun at a Minneapolis hotel.

According to the a report filed by Minnetrista police Sgt. Michael Kokesh, Vikings development director Les Pico told him that Griffen had been "struggling for weeks" and had been "explosive, screaming and yelling at the workplace".

Another front office staffer told police that Griffen was informed on Thursday that he wasn't allowed back to the team until he underwent a mental health evaluation.

More than 50 other women also have accused Cosby of sexual abuse going back decades, with most complaints too old to prosecute. Asked if he wanted to address the court with a statement before sentencing, Cosby declined through his lawyers.

After being ordered off the practice field, Griffen's downward spiral continued over a period of several hours on Saturday, according to police reports and a source. Griffen, 30, had been declared out of that game on Friday but his absence from the Vikings' sideline was surprising.

A few minutes later, Griffen's wife again called police to tell them he was now in a vehicle with a man that Griffen didn't know. Pico told police that upon meeting Griffen at the hotel, the defensive end forgot why he wanted to speak to him and did not want to talk to him anymore.

Griffen also reportedly threatened to "shoot someone" at the Hotel Ivy in downtown Minneapolis if he wasn't let into his room. The Minneapolis Police Department report detailed the incident, with the name of the person making the threat redacted. The man drove Griffen home, then directed police to his house because "Everson was acting insane and he was risky", according to a report filed Saturday by Minnetrista police officer Justin Thompson.

Kavanaugh said while he doesn't deny that Ford was sexually assaulted by someone in her past, it was not him. Collins said on Monday that she is "eager for the hearing to take place on Thursday".

"To clarify, there was no attempted break-in at our home and at no point did my family or I feel unsafe", Waynes said. "We are friends with the Griffen family and we are here to support them in any way possible during these trying times", he said. When police officers showed up, Griffen said "I'm leaving". The reporting officer placed a health and welfare hold on Griffen "based upon his actions and information I had acquired about him". Police told Griffen to get back in the ambulance and he did.

Griffen, who was replaced by Stephen Weatherly in the starting lineup on Sunday, sat out for most of the offseason practices out of precaution for a knee injury.

"We are aware of the situation involving Everson Griffen and certainly concerned by what we have heard", Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said in a statement.

"The only thing we're concerned about with Everson isn't anything to do with football, it's about him getting better", Zimmer said. "He's always been a really good model for us and obviously he's going through some tough times now".
