More than 1,500 disaster workers are on the ground to help and additional volunteers are being mobilized if needed.

As Florence dumps more than 30 inches of rain in North Carolina and the surrounding areas, it's all hands on deck for the American Red Cross.

About 10,000 remain in shelters. "All of the folks from the federal government that are around the table are confirming it". They are able to survive in flood waters for weeks on end, until waters subside and the ants can return back to dry land.


All branches of the Cajun Navy have come together to collect supplies for Hurricane Florence relief. That phone bank is now closed, but donations are still being accepted online.

Anderson has volunteered with the organization for 14 years and said Florence is his fifth storm deployment.
