KPMG takes Alibaba Cloud to the masses

KPMG takes Alibaba Cloud to the masses

"As businesses continue to embark on their cloud transformation strategies to address these challenges, they can feel confident that KPMG and Alibaba Cloud teams around the world together can address their specific needs for global, scalable, cloud-based digital solutions", commented Honson To, chairman of KPMG China and Asia-Pacific region.

Ma's prediction comes after Washington said it would impose duties on an extra US$200bn worth of Chinese imports, prompting Beijing to impose retaliatory taxes on around US$60bn worth of United States goods in response.

Alibaba's billionaire co-founder Jack Ma, a known advocate for globalization, this week expressed his growing pessimism over the dispute, saying it would be a "mess" for all parties involved.

It was a promise made in January of 2017 during a meeting with newly elected President Donald Trump.

Trump Reportedly Wanted to Build a Wall in the Sahara Desert
Trump disagreed, according to Borrell's recollection, adding that "the Sahara border can't be bigger than our border with Mexico". Contractors have completed eight prototypes of President Donald Trump's proposed border wall with Mexico.

Ma, however, said Alibaba "will not stop working hard to contribute to the healthy development of China-US trade".

This is not the first time, Ma publicly went against new tariffs imposed by Washington and Beijing.

At the time, Ma promised to create 1 million jobs in the USA over five years by helping small businesses sell farm produce and garments to China and Southeast Asia through Alibaba's e-commerce platforms.

"They still have many opportunities despite the trade frictions between China and the US", Ma said.

Robots will take 75 million jobs by 2022 says WEF
The report, released on September 17, forecasts that by 2025, half of all "work tasks" will be done by machines. That's up from 29% today and will lead to the displacement or loss of up to 75 million jobs by 2022.

One million jobs would be close to one percent of all jobs in the United States - meaning that successfully delivering would make Alibaba one of the country's largest private employers.

"I'm just 54, and I still have at least 16 years to do something new", Ma told Xinhua. "The situation now has completely destroyed our premise, so it can no longer be completed".

"The promise was made based on China and the USA having a collaborative and friendly relationship", he said in the Xinhua interview.

Chinese firms with factories in the United States would also face higher costs as they ship US -assembled products back home.

'I don't have an attorney general,' Trump says in interview
Trump did not say whether he would fire Sessions but said that it was "very unfair" that he recused himself . Sessions also incurred Trump's wrath recently over the indictments of two GOP lawmakers, California Rep.

Ma had offered the company's e-commerce platform to help US businesses sell products to Asia, with the potential of creating up to 1 million American jobs, during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York City in January past year.
