Fortnite loser, 45, threatened to shoot boy, 11, after playing online

45-year-old Michael Aliperti of Long Island, New York was arrested after threatening to shoot and kill an 11 year old boy he lost to in Fortnite.

The unnamed boy, from Kings Park, told cops some of the menacing messages were sent via Xbox after he beat the grown man at the online survival shooter game. This Fortnite Battle Royale player allegedly threatened to shoot an 11-year old after a loss.

Michael Aliperti was arrested in his West Neck home at 1:40 a.m.

Aliperti was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child.

Officials say that Aliperti messaged the boy through the Xbox messaging service, as well as through text message, and said that he may find the boy at school.

Police urge parents to monitor their children's video game playing and be aware of who their online opponents are.
