NAB to challenge IHC's verdict about Sharifs' sentences in SC

In a major relief to the Sharif family, a top Pakistani court suspended on Wednesday the jail sentences of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law in a corruption case and ordered their release from a high-security prison.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has made a decision to challenge today's ruling of the Islamabad High Court that ordered release of former premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar on bail.

Hamza further said that it had been proven that the accountability court's verdict against former premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law was weak.

Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were on parole last week for wife Kulsoom's funeral.
