Nintendo Direct cancelled because of Japanese natural disaster

Our colleagues at NintendoLife.com have started whispers that there may be another Nintendo Direct presentation scheduled for today!

The stream has been delayed as a result of the powerful 6.6 magnitude quake in Hokkaido, with a new time and date to be announced in the near future.

The company, which is headquartered in Kyoto, planned to show 35 minutes of details on forthcoming games until a magnitude 6.7 natural disaster jolted Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido overnight. Nintendo promised to provide a new date and time "in the near future".
