Nawaz Sharif's wife Kulsoom Nawaz dies in London

Nawaz Sharif's wife Kulsoom Nawaz dies in London

Prior to his departure to Pakistan, Nawaz had said his wife finally opened her eyes for a few seconds - something he had revealed a day prior that he wished for.

"Nawaz Sharif had always consulted Kulsoom Nawaz during his tough hours".

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was born in 1950. Sharif was eventually allowed to go into exile in Saudi Arabia in 2007. She married Sharif in April 1971.

Chief of Army Staff, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Sharif family.

For her undergraduate studies, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz attended the Forman Christian College and then pursued a Masters degree at the Punjab University.

The cancer-stricken wife of Pakistan's jailed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif died in London on Tuesday while her husband and daughter were in prison, officials said.

Fuel tax cut unlikely as Centre projects Rs 30,000 crore revenue hit
In Kolkata, the price of petrol has been increased to ₹83.27 per litre while the diesel price has gone up to ₹75.36 per litre. Instead, more states are expected to reduce VAT , which will lower prices without impacting the Centre's tax collection.

"Mrs. Kulsoom Nawaz was a fearless woman", Khan was quoted as saying in the statement. Nawaz's party leadership said it hopes that they will be granted bail.

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz held the office of PML-N on an interim basis in June, 2000, for a period of two years only.

"In a personal capacity, she was a very loving woman". She used to help such people quietly.

Nawaz and Maryam were arrested on July 13 upon their arrival in Lahore and are now serving a jail sentence in Adiala Jail.

"She was an outstanding lady and in my opinion, an exemplary one, whatever one's political views are". The couple have four children. "They had to leave her behind, I don't know what they'll be going through right now".

Conspiracy theories claiming that Nawaz was actually healthy, and that the Sharifs were faking her illness to gain sympathy, swirled in the final weeks of the acrimonious campaign.

Hurricane Florence's Path Toward the East Coast Triggers States' Price-Gouging Laws
In 2015, heavy flooding in Columbia made the logistics of hosting a game impossible, so the game was moved to LSU . Hurricane Helene will likely continue to strengthen since it is in a low wind shear environment and warm waters.

But some observers pointed out that Kulsoom Nawaz was no political novice. I never once saw bitterness in her temperament.

Although her public role - particularly with regards to Pakistan's often bitter domestic politics - was limited, she was known to exercise a certain degree of quiet power within the PML-N party. She used to join in during conversations and even quipped when Nawaz asked "Is there no Nihari or paaye for breakfast?' to say 'No we have put a stop to all these things".

"She fought against cancer with a lot of courage", Farouq added. Both Nawaz and Maryam were sentenced to jai in the case. In such dire times, Kulsoom Nawaz took matters into her own hands.

She was elected from Lahore's NA-120 constituency in a by-election after her husband was disqualified from the seat by the Supreme Court previous year but left for Britain even before she could start campaigning. They all either parted ways or stepped back or changed loyalties, but either way they did not stand with Nawaz Sharif.

Kulsoom Sharif was briefly a member of parliament after she won her husband's former seat in a by-election after the Supreme Court disqualified him.
