China vows to respond if US takes new steps on trade

On Aug. 31, Ford canceled plans to import the Focus Active crossover from China to the United States because of costs from the escalating trade war.

The Australian dollar, a proxy for Chinese growth because of the large amount of metals it sells there, hovered near its lowest in 2 1/2 years and was last at $0.7115. "Looking forward, the focus would be on how the market reacts after Apple releases its latest models", said Kevin Chung, analyst at JihSun Securities Investment Consulting.

"Back to US' manufacturing seems to be back on the agenda for President Trump ..." Make your products in the United States instead of China. Kristin Dziczek of the Center for Automotive Research said that Ford can make Focuses "in many other plants around the world, so if they chose to continue to sell a Focus variant in the USA market, there are several options other than building it in the United States". The Trump's tweet on Saturday came after Apple hinted at increasing the price of its products.

A day earlier, the president exhorted Apple to start building new plants in the USA after the tech giant warned that a proposed US$200 billion in new tariffs on Chinese imports would jack up the price of its products.

Emotional Novak Djokovic: 'Many changes happened in the last years to me'
Never was that more apparent than the game that stood out on this evening: with Djokovic serving while down 4-3 in the second set. Djokovic's coach, Marian Vajda, called that moment the match's "turning point, obviously". "They deserve to win".

The administration in July implemented a 27.5 percent tariff on cars imported from China, which the Asian nation countered with a 40 percent levy on US automobile imports.

Shares in many Apple suppliers in Asia fell on Monday following Donald Trump's tweet warning that Apple should focus on manufacturing its iPhones in the US.

Apple might increase US production in the next 5 - 10 years, but it will still remain a small part of its manufacturing footprint.

San Francisco: Apple Inc. said proposed United States tariffs on $200 billion worth of products imported from China will raise prices for some of its popular consumer goods such as the Apple Watch and AirPods headphones.

East Coast. "Florence is expected to be an extremely risky major hurricane through Thursday", the NHC said in its latest bulletin. Approximately 1 million people in eight counties have until noon on Tuesday to evacuate, the governor said.

Technically, that's true. Ford can build the Focus Active at a domestic plant, just like it can give the next Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 a manual transmission.

A Ford spokesman responded on Twitter. It makes many of its products for the USA market in China.

Ford, however, has no plans to move production to the United States. A recent study by Bank of America found that iPhone prices would rise 20% if they were manufactured 100% in the U.S. "Even if you had demand and volume, it's still very hard to build a small vehicle in the US profitably, which is why you find very few of them here".
