BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant Is Proprietary In-Car AI — Hey BMW

The Intelligent Personal Assistant will be available in a basic version with voice control in 23 languages and markets from March. The system's functions can be accessed by simply saying, "Hey BMW!". Outside the vehicle, people will be able use its services at home with the help of a smart speaker or outside in general with their smartphone.

Compatible but not limited to other digital assistants on your connected phone, the BMW IPA will aid a driver in operating many of their in-car functions and information.

BMW has chose to go its own route in the field of artificial intelligence by announcing its own system, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds dies, aged 82
That "was the closest to me, in terms of, I see myself in that character and it was a classic film", Reynolds told USA TODAY . The Tonight Show appearances were important because it gave the world a chance to see how amusing Reynolds was.

More features are yet to come, as apparently the range of functions and skills available will be "constantly expanded", carried out via a smartphone or in-car by a remote software upgrade. The BMW premiered its digital personal assistant for its cars, the aptly named "BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant".

BMW's Intelligent Personal Assistant learns routines and habits so that it can apply them in the appropriate context. In the future, BMW claims that the AI will be ready to help drivers when they are outside the vehicle.

The assistant enables communication with the vehicle and, like other voice assistants, is activated with a phrase, in this case: "Hey, BMW". It will do things like learning their preferred vehicle settings including things like seat heating preferences and frequent destination. With each preference and settings the system learns, this forms the basis for the BMW ID, a digital profile that links the auto to the driver and their digital world. This profile links the auto to the customer and their digital world.

Post Malone's Rolls Royce Wraith Wrecked in Hollywood Car Accident
The watch commander also reported that Malone was not the one driving the Rolls-Royce but was sitting in the passenger seat. His Rolls-Royce reportedly hit another auto and smashed through a fence in Los Angeles in the early hours of Friday morning.

The Intelligent Personal Assistant can work in a variety of different ways. But perhaps the coolest feature is the ability to enhance the driver's well-being. In future, the assistant will also be able to give fuel-saving driving tips or think ahead and warn drivers as necessary. It could alert the driver to problems ("The tire pressure is low"), for example, remind the driver of service appointments or even arrange an appointment with a BMW service center. This means he can instantly identify the song now playing on the radio or search the stations for the desired type of music ("Play classical music, please").

From March 2019, BMW X5, Z4, and 8 Series models with BMW OS 7.0 will be able to install the full version of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. It will feature more natural voice control and more intelligent functions in the US, Germany, UK, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Brazil, Japan and (from May 2019) China. People will be able to ask it general questions ("Hey BMW, what's the meaning of life?") and expect smart responses to certain prompts.

In early 2019, BMW will launch an artificial intelligence function called the Intelligent Personal Assistant in its new vehicles that will allow drivers to control numerous car's secondary systems by voice.
