Kim Kardashian Flies To White House & Fights To Overturn Another Life Sentence

Kim Kardashian West is taking on the case of another prisoner with a life sentence, after her campaign to free Alice Marie Johnson earlier this year was successful, according to a new report. That's according to a White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss the matter on the record.

- Kim Kardashian West is reportedly in Washington, DC to meet with President Donald Trump, TMZ reports.

"It's scary when you have a minor drug charge but then you get life and you're stuck in this insane maximum-security prison with murderers and people [like that]", the 37-year-old reality star continued. In an emotional video capturing her reunion with her family, Johnson thanked President Trump and sang out "Hallelujah!"

Trump granted the pardon a week later.

Kardashian expressed her gratitude to the president at the time in a tweet which read, "Best news ever!" The Reality TV star was at the White House on Wednesday to talk about prison reform.

The meeting is part of an effort to build support for overhauling the nation's drug laws, sentencing requirements and prisons, Jones told reporters.

Now, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is asking for the release of Chris Young, a man currently serving a life sentence for similar nonviolent drug charges. "When you have prominent people like Kim helping voiceless people behind bars - like Chris Young who she is advocating for today - that's incredibly powerful".
