Google Nexus 5X finally receives Android 9.0 Pie via AOSP ROM

After launching on iOS back in April, the phenomenally popular battle royale game is coming to Android devices this summer, and the developer has now revealed that the game won't be available through the Google Play store like most other games for the platform.

After signing up for the beta on your Pie-powered phone and downloading Digital Wellbeing from the Play Store, it doesn't actually show up in your app drawer.

Samsung to invest billions in artificial intelligence and 5G
Samsung's second quarter profit dipped slightly to 11.04 trillion won, down from 11.05 trillion won a year earlier. Samsung has confirmed that it's going to invest over $20 billion in new growth areas over the next three years.

With the game not available on Google Play, it's highly recommended that you don't simply install any APKs from unknown sources. Unlike most developers who rely on the Google Play Store for distribution of their apps, Epic feels that Fortnite can draw enough interest to allow them to avoid needing a third party distributor. It's a big pie for Epic games, which has made over $1 Billion in revenue from in-app Fortnite purchases (for both PC and mobile ) by the start of this month. The game will instead be available from Epic's servers cutting Google out completely.

The message that pops up says that "Fortnite Battle Royal by Epic Games, Inc is not available on Google Play". Whether this is a mere typo or Google doesn't know how to spell the name of the game is unclear, but it's a somewhat amusing mishap nonetheless.

Epic Games' free-to-play multiplatform game just crossed the billion-dollar threshold thanks to in-game purchases where players pay upgrades to customize their characters. But the same message does not appear on the web version of Google Play as yet.

Fake games on the Play Store have been a problem for some time.
