Caught on camera: massive explosions on highway leave 2 dead many injured

Italian prosecutors said the tanker was filled with liquefied petroleum gas, otherwise known as propane, used as a fuel in heaters, cooking equipment and vehicles.

Italian media said a truck carrying cars collided on a bridge with another tanker truck containing explosive materials.

Images released by police show the tanker ploughing into the back of the lorry that had come to a stop in motorway traffic.

The massive explosion and shock wave were also captured on cell phone video by at least one driver who was stopped to avoid the accident.
