The success of her presence during the crossover event will decide the future of the standalone Batwoman series in development at The CW, from Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) and Greg Berlanti, who oversees all DC Comics-based shows for the network. The character will be introduced in the network's annual DC crossover event this winter, plus the network is also developing a stand-alone series around the character.

More as it fires in.

Whether she gets her own spin-off television series remains to be seen. Ruby Rose is an apt choice for the role, as she's both demonstrated a penchant for action and is a member of the LGBTQ community.

The news of Ruby Rose's casting was confirmed by the official Arrow Twitter account, which posted an image of the actress alongside the titular hero she's set to play. The character has previously been in relationships with Renee Montoya and Maggie Sawyer (a connection The CW is surely aware of). From there she had roles in films like "XXX" Return of Xander Cage" and "John Wick: "Chapter 2". You don't cast a name this big without plans to go to broadcast, and I can't imagine her appearance on Arrow really going poorly. Kane is a wealthy heiress who becomes inspired by Batman and chooses to also put her wealth and resources towards a campaign to fight crime as a masked vigilante in her home of Gotham City.

Before Batwoman becomes a reality for Rose, she'll next be seen in Jason Statham's new shark movie The Meg, which hits USA cinemas this weekend.
