Jurgen Klopp suggests Liverpool transfer activity may not be over

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given cause for excitement in the final few days of the transfer window after being suspiciously coy on the Reds' business between now and Thursday.

Blood began streaming from Milner's forehead and while the injury is likely no more than superficial, manager Jurgen Klopp described it as "the big shadow over that game".

Fellow defenders Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan are struggling with hip and hamstring injuries respectively, while Croatia global Dejan Lovren only returned from his post-World Cup holiday on Monday.

After tonight's game the reds return to Liverpool - with one more friendly pencilled in on Tuesday night against Torino at Anfield.

Klopp is hoping to find a solution ahead of the big kickoff against West Ham United next weekend, telling the Liverpool Echo: "From six to three".

"Joel, we will have to see". Dejan didn't train so far. He probably won't play Tuesday and Sunday will be very hard as well. "I know what it would mean to their fans if they went all the way".

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Pearce said: "Klopp has shown throughout his time at Liverpool that if he can't get exactly what he wants he's prepared to wait rather than just chase an inferior alternative for the sake of it".

"Very cool with the ball as we saw in the pre-season games when he played in front of 100,000 and 60,000 he wasn't bothered about that, and that's a very important skill".

In Saturday's other pre-season friendlies involving Premier League clubs, Wolves beat Villarreal 2-1, Crystal Palace claimed a 4-1 win over Toulouse, Cardiff were beaten 2-1 by Real Betis and Southampton lost 3-0 to Borussia Monchengladbach.
