Browns trading former first-round pick Corey Coleman to Bills

Browns trading former first-round pick Corey Coleman to Bills

Three years later after two lackluster seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Coleman was traded to the Buffalo Bills for an undisclosed draft pick, the team announced.

A seventh-round draft choice is a pretty low return for a player the Browns selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Coleman caught 56 passes for 718 yards with 5 touchdowns combined in 2016 and 2017, but his drop late in the fourth quarter last Dec 31 at Pittsburgh clinched an 0-16 season.

"We view it as a fresh start here to earn and compete", Beane told reporters in Buffalo. Philly got the better part of that trade, as they used their newly acquired pick to draft quarterback Carson Wentz.

We're starting wide receiver week on CBS Sports, and the Browns and Bills made a decision to help us out with something of note to talk about.

"Definitely, always looking to add speed on both sides of the ball", he said. And we're always looking to add it.

Hurricane Hector is headed toward Hawaii, where a volcano is erupting
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles. ET Saturday, Hector was located 1,395 miles south of Hilo, Hawaii. "Slow weakening is forecast during the next few days".

The GM didn't sound anxious about the baggage Coleman is bringing with him from Cleveland as a disappointing first-round pick. Beane said, "Ideally guys in the first round don't take so long and there's various reasons whether it's injuries or whether it's the system, whether it's just not a good fit for where you're at, there's a lot reasons". "I don't know all - what went right or wrong there".

Buffalo had arguably the worst receiving corps in the National Football League prior to the trade, and Coleman should come in as a starter opposite Kelvin Benjamin. There is nothing guaranteed here.

His comments were just odd and come before the Bills and Panthers are set to square off in preseason action this Thursday.
