[Rumour] Apple To Drop Headphone Jack On Upcoming Smaller iPad Pro

Apple will reveal its next line up of iPhone devices sometime later this year. The same report also says that the new tablets will be smaller, and Apple will introduce FaceID albeit only in portrait mode.

The new iPad Pros are not expected to feature a Home button, and according to previous rumours, will include a TrueDepth camera system for Face ID.

While were at it, here are some speculative renders that compare the current iPhone X (left) with the 6.1” iPhone (center) and the bigger 6.5” model (right). The iPhones are 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch respectively.

The headphone jack removal rumour was backed up further by a claim in the report that Apple will no longer be bundling the Lightning to 3.5mm adapters. Furthermore, even more recently, a developer shared proof that upcoming iPad Pro models will support Face ID, which has even opened the floodgates for speculation about a "notched" iPad.

This would mean that Apple could make the iPad Pro smaller without reducing the display size.

After the unveiling of the iPhone X last September, we've all been excited to see what changes Apple will make to this year's iPad Pro lineup. The exact position of the Face ID setup isn't known yet, and we will have to wait till September to find out.
