Al Qattan said in the video in Arabic, which led social media users to call her a racist who was encouraging modern slavery.

Earlier, a non-government organization also sought al-Qattan's inclusion in the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration blacklist of abusive and undesirable foreign employers.

She also thanked people who described her as "beautiful from the outside but not necessarily the same from the inside". "And of course you won't know what happens on these days, while her passport is with her".

Sondo al-Qattan faces criticism for a video posted on July 10 to Instagram, where she has 2.3 million followers, in which she attacked measures introduced in May that grant Filipinas working in the oil-rich Gulf state one day off per week and prevent employers from keeping their passports.

While all these new rules sound like a basic human rights, Qattan's comments and the backlash seem to have not gone well with her clients.

Responding to pressure from critics, Max Factor Arabia have now said they will terminate their lucrative endorsement deals with her.

It was followed by Japanese multinational Shiseido, which said on Thursday it "does not support or align with the recent statements made by Sondos Al Qattan".

"Sondos" comments are personal and do not represent either the values or the principles that Max Factor Arabia stands for.

"Max Factor stands for women's empowerment and supporting every woman to express her individuality, irrespective of ethnicity and occupation".

Al-Qattan received nearly instant backlash after the video was posted online.

"Believe me, there's a reason why they keep running away from you, and maybe you are that reason", Al Ameri told Alqattan. He/she will be entitled to one day leave every week with an annual holiday of 22 days. "If they run away and went back to their country, who'll refund me?"

"I have the right as a kafil (sponsor) to keep my employee's passport, and I am responsible for paying a deposit of up to 1,500 dinars (around $4,900)", she said. "I don't want a Filipino maid anymore".

Migrante International asked the government to declare Kuwaiti social media influencer Sondos Alqattan persona non grata after she condemned new laws giving Filipino household workers a weekly day-off and the right to keep their passports.

She insisted the practises are not an "insult to the employee, and do not concern humanity or human rights because I did not deprive the employee of her salary or beat her".

Kuwait employs nearly 700,000 domestic workers, out of a population of four million, including 250,000 Filipinos.
