After deadly shooting, Toronto wants to ban handgun sales in the city

People of the Danforth and beyond will attend another vigil Wednesday night to mourn two people who were killed and 13 others left wounded in a horrific shooting on Sunday.

According to videos and witness accounts, the assailant, clad all in black, was seen walking quickly down a sidewalk on Danforth Avenue, firing a handgun into shops and restaurants in Greektown, a district of expensive homes, eateries and cafes.

The Toronto Police source also said that "there's nothing like that at our end", unless the Canadian Security Intelligence Service or the RCMP have information to the contrary, which Goodale's statement strongly suggests they do not.

Although ISIS has claimed Hussain was a follower, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said Wednesday that there is no evidence to support that claim.

"It is way too early to rule out anything".

CBC News has learned from a source close to his family that Hussain was apprehended twice by police while he was under 18. His parents made daily hospital visits to see his brother, who has been in a coma for almost a year and a half following an accident.

North Korea Could Begin Returning Remains of US Missing on Friday
While South Korean officials say they are committed to the full denuclearisation of North Korea, they have shown more flexibility in the timing of a peace agreement than their USA allies.

Saunders said officials will continue to explore every investigative avenue, including interviews and reviewing the online activity and mental health experiences of dead gunman Faisal Hussain.

"Tonight, a despicable act has been perpetrated on the Danforth in our city".

"Medications and therapy were unable to treat him", they said.

On Monday, 10-year-old Julianna Kozis was identified as the second victim of the shooting. The family said they were shocked at Hussain's "senseless violence" and expressed their condolences for the families of the shooting victims.

Hussain was found dead near the scene of the shooting after an exchange of gunfire with police.

The suspect had a gunshot wound, authorities said, but they would not elaborate on the circumstances or cause of his death.

Conor McGregor reaches plea deal on assault charges, gets community service
According to ESPN , McGregor's guilty plea for this deal will leave him with no criminal record and won't affect his travel visa. He and his entourage then rushed to a waiting SUV, separated by bike-rack barricades from dozens of photographers and reporters.

And then there's this: CBS News was reporting all day Tuesday that "investigators in Canada" were digging into "indications" suggesting Hussain may have visited and even expressed support for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) websites, though, the story said, there was no indication he'd been directed to carry out the attack.

Toronto police are carrying out their own investigation into the attack and completed a search of Hussain's apartment on Tuesday.

Howard Lichtman, a spokesman for the Danforth Business Improvement Association, which co-organized the walk, said he hoped the event would give the community a chance to "reclaim" the neighbourhood after the attack.

Hours after the fatal shooting, in an apparently unrelated incident, a man with a knife was arrested during a military ceremony on Parliament Hill in Canada's capital, Ottawa.

The man was arrested and no one was injured, the Canadian defence ministry said. Toronto's mayor John Tory met Ontario premier Doug Ford and federal minister Bill Blair at City Hall, the seat of the city's government, on Monday.

Logi Vidarsson, who has been living in Toronto for over 10 years, said that a tragedy like this should never happen.

The dispatcher tells the woman he doesn't have any control over that, and that "this is definitely a medical emergency for her". The source added that Lovato is "human" and the high expectations she set for herself "got to be too much".
