Liverpool confirm world record £65million signing of Brazil goalkeeper Alisson

The Reds are closing in on finalising a record-breaking fee for Brazilian number one Alisson Becker, and AS Roma's Director of Football has confirmed that the move is nearly done.

Roma confirmed Liverpool will pay a €62.5 million (£56m) fee, surpassing the €40m (£34.7m) Manchester City paid Benfica for Ederson in 2017.

The club are not prepared to say anything publicly until the deal is completed and as yet no medical has been arranged, with the possibility remaining that another club could match Liverpool's offer.

"We haven't finalised anything yet (with Alisson)", he said.
