The new season of Doctor Who is set to premiere on BBC America this fall.

Chris Chibnall, the series' new showrunner, added: "We just really wanted to have a whole range of characters so that everybody watching the show had someone to relate to". "So you won't see very much from the past, though there will be things here and there".

Whittaker says the season will also have a number of guest actors.
