U.S. troop remains to be repatriated soon from North Korea: Pompeo

U.S. -North Korea relations are "very good" and "the process is moving along", Trump added.

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Russian Federation would help with North Korea and offered an enthusiastic update on the US process of negotiating with the antagonistic Asian nation over nuclear weapons. He said he misspoke when he dismissed allegations from the US intelligence community, stating he accepted the conclusions as he tried to quell a firestorm over his press conference with Putin.

Pompeo also said on Wednesday the North Koreans had "reaffirmed their commitment to denuclearize".

Earlier in June, US broadcaster NBC News reported that US intelligence agencies believed North Korea continued producing fuel for its nuclear programme.

The president also famously called North Korea an "extraordinary threat" to the United States, justifying more pressure on Pyongyang.

Some reports have even suggested that Pyongyang is pushing ahead with construction at sites affiliated with its nuclear and missile programs, based on satellite images.

'I'm going to invite him next time I go to North Korea. The two Korean countries are still technically at war, although Moon and Kim had pledged at the inter-Korean summit that they will sign a peace treaty to end the six-decade Korean War formally.

There are reasons to think Russian Federation is at least somewhat amenable to the idea of denuclearizing North Korea, and they might want it badly enough to stick with the program even if the USA refuses to be shaken down for additional concessions.

USA and North Korean officials met on the inter-Korean border on Sunday to discuss the return of remains, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said.
