Alisson set for Liverpool medical on Thursday

Liverpool have made a new bid of €75m (£66.9m) for Alisson and are close to sealing a world-record deal for the Roma goalkeeper.

The Brazil global will replace Loris Karius as Klopp's No 1.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Alisson has agreed personal terms with the club and the deal will see him sign a five-year contract with Jurgen Klopp's side, although he won't be part of the Reds' pre-season tour to the USA as he will be given time off to recover from his exertions at the World Cup.

Novak Djokovic wins 4th Wimbledon title
Novak finds another return winer to prolong the game and there's the second break point for him after a poor backhand from Rafa. But while Anderson and Isner's titanic tussle was more an exercise in totting up aces, this was a cast-iron classic.

And now he is set to become the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

Chelsea also want the Brazil global but Liverpool know the time has come to move.

After submitting a £62m offer on Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp's side have moved quickly to agree a world-record £67m package with Roma for the Brazil worldwide. It's obvious to everyone - look at what happened in the Champions League final. Alisson is also coming off of a fine season with Roma, keeping 17 clean sheets as his side finished 3rd in Serie A.

Thibaut Courtois is reportedly closing in on a move to Real Madrid, but Chelsea will be keen to have his replacement signed before sanctioning a deal.

That fee is far beyond the £34.7m Manchester City paid for fellow Brazilian Ederson Moraes past year - the current world record for a goalkeeper.

It's the second time this year that Liverpool have broken a world record in transfer fees having signed Virgil van Dijk for €84.5 million, a record for a defender.

It's a shame that Fekir most likely won't be coming to the Premier League this summer but you can hardly blame Liverpool for being cautious.
