Liverpool make €70 million Alisson swoop

But a positive update arrived on Tuesday morning because, according to reports in Italy, Liverpool have finally submitted a formal bid for Alisson.

The German keeper then dropped another clanger in a pre-season game against Tranmere last week which further intensified speculation over his position.

Sky sources had previously indicated Liverpool had no plans to bid for Alisson this summer, but that was earlier in the window when the Premier League believed the Brazil worldwide was going to Real Madrid.

Alisson is the number one choice for the Brazil National team and played in every game for Brazil at the World Cup in Russian Federation.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has personally spoken to Roma goalkeeper Alisson as the Reds look to secure a deal to sign the Brazilian global.

The Italian club, which is also fending off interest from Chelsea for their Brazilian number one, have indicated they want £66 million.

Several Paris Metro stations were temporarily adjusting their names to honor the team and its members, the transport authority tweeted.

Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he is ready to stick with Loris Karius ahead of the new campaign.

That said, Real Madrid are reportedly close to signing Thibaut Courtois and that would mean that Chelsea would go all out to sign the Roma shot-stopper.

The deal would smash the previous world-record fee for a goalkeeper set by Manchester City when they signed Alisson's compatriot Ederson from Benfica for £34.7m last summer.

But Trump's statements on the issue could give Russian Federation reason to hope he might change that stance. The US leader left just after 4pm on Sunday, marking the end of a four day trip to the UK.

Now it appears the wheels may be in motion for Alisson to arrive at Anfield, with the keeper reported to be keen to make the move to Liverpool.
