Donald Trump denies collusion, says Russian Federation probe 'a disaster' for US

Donald Trump denies collusion, says Russian Federation probe 'a disaster' for US

"Yes, I wanted him to win because he spoke of normalization of Russian-U.S. ties", he said at the news conference, acknowledging a preference that is widely suspected in Washington.

The Russian president has developed a reputation for arriving late to meetings and he did not make an exception for Mr Trump.

"No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant".

"The world wants to see us get along", Trump said at the start of his summit with Russia's President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. "There is no moral equivalence between the United States and Russian Federation, which remains hostile to our most basic values and ideals".

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says the talks between Putin and Trump were "magnificent", Russian media reported. I don't see any reason why it would be'.

Putin said Mueller could send questions for the 12 indicted Russian military intelligence officers and potentially attend interviews if the US would be willing to reciprocate with those in the USA whom the Russians believe have committed crimes in Russia. He stood next to Putin and attacked domestic political rivals, the Justice Department, and the FBI for investigating what happened while ignoring questions over his own intelligence community's assessment that Putin did, in fact, order a sophisticated influence campaign in states that ultimately decided the election outcome.

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people".

"I think Trump, President Trump, was wrong yesterday in a major way and I think it was a very embarrassing press conference", Illinois GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger told CNN's John Berman on "New Day".

He noted Putin's offer for USA officials to work with Russian investigators to question those whom special counsel Robert Mueller indicted.

After all, that was the ultimate goal of Russia's election meddling, USA officials have assessed.

Donald Trump , who is set to meet Vladimir Putin in Russian Federation next week, has reportedly been briefed on the news. He also predicted that, whichever the outcome will be, his critics will still say he was too soft on the Kremlin.

But Trump's acceptance of Putin's offer on Browder was likewise unusual, not least because Browder is a British national since 1998, when he gave up his U.S. citizenship, meaning that Trump would either have to arrest Browder if he visited America, or put pressure on Britain to extradite him in order for Putin to get his way.

"So, I'm sure by [Tuesday's] show, later [Monday], may even have a different take on this thing", Limbaugh said.

"There is no moral equivalence between the United States and Russian Federation, which remains hostile to our most basic values and ideals", he said.

Other Republicans called Trump's remarks "outrageous", "an absolute disgrace", and "moronic".

Earlier on Monday, Putin's spokesman said he hoped the summit with Trump was a "baby step" toward fixing exceptionally bad US-Russian relations. "But it is clear that the summit in Helsinki was a tragic mistake", said Republican Senator John McCain, who chairs the powerful Senate Armed Services Committee.

Before bringing aides in to join them in the meeting, Trump said the summit was off to "a very good start for everybody". This was after he tweeted earlier that Washington's "foolishness and stupidity" was the reason for bad relations.

In an earlier statement, Ryan issued a rare rebuke of the president, saying Trump needed to understand that Russian Federation is not an ally and that there is "no moral equivalence between the United States and Russian Federation".

The language used by Democrats was much harsher, including accusations of "treason".

From the president's own perspective, he may have been right when he predicted that the Putin meeting would be "the easiest" of the week. "The era of ideological confrontation between our countries is long gone, the situation in the world has changed drastically", Putin said.
