Russians accused of hacking Democrats in 2016 United States election

Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for hacking offenses related to the 2016 US presidential campaign.

One attempt at interference came hours after Trump, in a July 27, 2016, speech, suggested Russians look for emails that Clinton said she had deleted from her tenure as secretary of state.

Even as the Mueller probe moved forward, with an additional 12 indictments related to Russian interference in the 2016 election, Republicans in the House of Representatives moved closer to filing impeachment documents against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

"Yes, when we get these documents, we believe that it will do away with this whole fiasco of what they call the Russian Trump collusion because there wasn't any", he said on the House floor. But now Trump is under pressure - including from several members of Congress from his own party - to confront Putin about claims he tried to sabotage the election that put Trump in the White House.

"Gladhanding with Vladimir Putin on the heels of these indictments would be an insult to our democracy", Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement. It contains no allegations that USA citizens committed a crime, he said.

"I think we could probably get along very well", Trump added, referring to his scheduled summit with Putin.

He said "We have to focus on the game". "We created such a group where they will concede and will say "I have to miss the final". Questioned by authorities previous year over his testimony in Mamic's trial, he said simply: " My conscience is clear ".

The senators wrote there "must be other Americans in the room" at the meeting, where they also stated "Russia's attack on our election" should be a "top issue".

But Russia's foreign ministry said the claims were a "heap of conspiracy schemes" meant to "damage the atmosphere" before Monday's summit.

Officials at the time said "no more than about 200,000" voters had been affected by a cyber-hacking of the registration rolls.

US President Donald Trump has criticised the administration of his predecessor Barack Obama over alleged Russian hacking to help him win the 2016 presidential election.

"The Russian state has never interfered and has no intention of interfering in the U.S. elections", President Vladimir Putin's foreign affairs adviser, Yuri Ushakov, said on Friday.

Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Party leader, said that the Russians waged a massive, concerted operation to interfere in U.S. elections, and they will do so again in the fall.

I think she had really many advantages because of that. "It's obviously disappointing, but I can not be disappointed". Serena Williams has responded to claims she was a victim of sexism in a controversial move from Wimbledon organisers.

"I have a lot of faith in President Trump", he said. "You can only ask so many times", Trump told reporters on Air Force One.

"President Trump should absolutely cancel this meeting with Putin on Monday", said DNC chairman Tom Perez.
