Karunaratne leads Sri Lanka to 272-run lead 2 days into test

Karunaratne leads Sri Lanka to 272-run lead 2 days into test

South Africa were all out for 73 in their second innings, the worst for them in Sri Lanka. Although Sri Lanka were bundled out for 190 in their second innings, their lead had already gone over 350 and the visitors needed 352 for an improbable victory with plenty of time in hand.

South Africa collapsed dramatically against Sri lanka s spin to crash to 73 all out in the first Test in Galle on Saturday, their lowest total since readmission to worldwide cricket.

Karunaratne certainly showed the South Africans that runs could be scored on a surface that was providing appreciable but not reckless turn, although the pugnacious left-hander did not have to contend with Dilruwan Perera and Rangana Herath. Perera added six wickets to his four in the first innings while Herath took three.

Belgium Vs. England Live Stream
Victory today would secure England's highest World Cup finish since the triumph in 1966 and their highest ever on foreign soil. While England lost to Italy in 1990, Belgium were beaten by their conquerors in the semi-finals, France in 1986.

In their second innings, Dimuth Karunaratne - the centurion of the first innings - batted solidly yet again to score a steady 60. Rather than doing all the hard work and passing the job on to someone else, it's better to build the innings yourself.

"Sri Lanka looked to get 20 wickets with spin".

10 - Although this is South Africa's lowest Test total since re-admission.

Some remains have been returned to the US over the years, but very few since recovery efforts were mostly halted in 2005 as U.S. The US military has since announced that 100 wooden coffins have been moved to the inter-Korean border in preparation.

"The way that everybody played, I think they applied themselves as best as they can", Amla said. "That's what I always do on turning tracks", Karunaratne said. But their bubble was emphatically burst at the Galle International Stadium on Saturday (July 14) when Sri Lanka hammered them by 278 runs in the first Test which ended well inside three days.

"No matter how much you train before a series like this, you can't face the quality of spin you'll get in the test match when you're playing in the nets", South Africa captain Faf du Plessis said after the match.

They resumed 4-1, Aiden Markram the lone man to depart, but Keshav Maharaj (3) fell to Rangana Herath in the third over of day two and that set in motion a withering display from the tourists as they struggled to cope with a lively pitch. With a first-innings lead of 161 runs, it was feeling comfortable on a wicket that was offering assistance to spin bowlers. "We stopped easy runs, put pressure and got the wickets early and things went on pretty well I thought", Perera told reporters. Philander, for all his resistance with the bat, only bowled 11 overs in the match, and may have to make way for another batsman, Theunis de Bruyn, or a different style of fast bowler, Lungi Ngidi. After a wicketless first innings, Maharaj took four in the second while Rabada's ability on pitches that offer very little to the quicks was impressive. "We are expecting big spin on day one".
