Aston Martin put a V8 in this silly, tiny car

Not so much a pocket rocket as a microscopic missile, the V8 Cygnet will be bringing its own brand of miniscule fury to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. A roll cage was welded to this that became an integral part of the chassis in the process, while a new front bulkhead and transmission tunnel were fabricated from sheet metal to accommodate the 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 Vantage S powertrain.

The very unusual Aston was built at the request of one of the company's customers, and its most outstanding feature is a 4.7-liter V-8 engine producing 430 bhp, taken from the previous generation of the Vantage S.

Big things, small packages: Aston Martin reveals V8 Cygnet
Aston Martin's stuffed a 430-hp V8 into a Cygnet city car

The Cygnet originally sold for about $55,000 between 2011 and 2013, but the company's not revealed what this one-off cost to build.

Developed in-house by Aston Martin engineers, the V8 Cygnet is a showcase of the levels that Q by Aston Martin can go to if a customer so desires.

US appeals judge's order allowing AT&T to buy Time Warner
Some legal experts believe it would be hard for the government to convince an appeals court to overturn Judge Leon's ruling. The merger, first announced in October 2016, was also opposed by US President Donald Trump .

With 430 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque, Aston Martin estimates the V8 Cygnet will hit 60 miles per hour in 4. 380mm discs with six-piston monoblock calipers are at the front, and 330mm discs with four-piston monoblock calipers at the rear. The automaker is getting the opportunity to see how it runs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it is making its official debut at the hillclimb. Since the iQ started off with 16-inch wheels standard, carbon fiber wheel arches were then added to house the meaty 19-inchers all-around.

It breathes out of a new twin-exhaust system with twin underfloor mufflers and 'cats, and the relatively compact layout means none of the V8's roar will be lost on the way: This vehicle promises to sound as distinctive as it looks. The engine was ripped from a Vantage S, and the exhaust tips are definitely not the same set that came on the auto when new.

The 6-foot-10 tower bagged his biggest career title at the Miami Open, one of the most prestigious non-major tournaments. The five-set thriller ended with Djokovic registering a victory with the scoreline 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 [11-9], 3-6, 10-8.

Inside, there's an FIA compliant fire extinguisher system along with composite, fixed-back Recaro bucket seats with four-point harnesses. A removable steering wheel makes the cut too, and sits in front of an instrument binnacle lifted from the Vantage. You do, at least, get air conditioning, two USB ports, and leather pull-straps for the carbon door trim.
